Best Wishes from all at Earnpride Pomeranians Scotland
My name is Cath Stewart.
MY daughter Anne is also in joint ownership of our affix.
I was first introduced to poms in 1975 when my husband gave the loan of a £1 to a gent in the bar where he worked part time .
For his kindness he was offered the pick of the litter of poms that he and his wife had just bred, this was the begining of my love affair with the breed known to us all as the "Pomeranian".
I chose Pixie this was my very first pomeranian . She was the prettiest little puppy I`d ever seen, she was cream in colour and very soon she became my best friend, she wasnt show quality but in my eyes she was simply the best.
We then lived in a village called Abernethy, which has a view over the valley into which both the Rivers Tay and Earn flow. Jamie at 2 yrs old What a pose.
This photo of Jamie (Earnpride the Sundance Kid JW) was taken at 6 mths old.
That is where I have taken my affix from, as I dearly loved my village .
My daughter, Anne, was also born that year. Little did I know then what relevence that would hold!!
In 1987 I bought Toybox Firedancer (Bo) from Miss Eve Smail, and that is when my story begins.
Anne showed Bo, I could only watch and what they did together is well known in the world of Poms, twice winning outright the then KCJO finals at Crufts.
Later I showed him myself when Anne moved to London to work.
Earnpride Brandy Snap was his daughter and they went everywhere together.
Bo died in 1997 and Brandy of a broken heart less than a year later.
Since I lost them I have had varied success with several Poms, too many to mention, and lately I have been having a great time in the ring with Jamie (Earnpride the Sundance Kid JW) which to the present time has 4 rcc's and gained his junior warrant at the age of 11 months. We took to the ring literally by storm or should I say barking in 2006. He has done me proud and is loved by the whole family.
This year I have had a great time with his son Buzz ( Earnpride Quickstep) who has had 2 best puppy in shows and a Toy Group and is only still 13 months old. He is an ultra sound dog and he has a loving nature and a loving dog to all.
I have also had a good time with Sox( Earnpride Flashdance) who is also a lovely sound dog, he is lightly shown now and is the exact same breeding as Buzz but from a previous litter.
I was always more intrested in showing than judging but in 1992 I was given two appointnments in the same week, to judge Poms at NSTD and the Toy Group at Dundee Canine Club, at which my group winner went BIS, I was overjoyed. Then I judged at NSTD and my BOB went RBIS, I was delighted.
Since then I have judged 4 Pomeranian Club Shows and several times the breed at all breed shows.
I enjoyed awarding cc's for the first time in May 2008 at my own club, the Scottish Pomeranian Club championship show.
